Employers

Feedback provided by employers as part of activities under the OP RDE project called ‘Competitive Graduate from Mendel University in Brno’ is obtained through workshops organised with the employers, the conclusion of Memoranda of Cooperation, during Career Days at MENDELU and job fairs for MENDELU students and graduates. Cooperation activities with employers are led by MENDELU’s Institute of Lifelong Learning (ILL).

Workshops are aimed at employers who are already providing practicum placements, or at those who have a potential prospect to establish further cooperation. Other target groups are employers who are involved in our lessons in one way or another, or those with whom the university has established some form of collaboration. The goal of the workshops is to present newly accredited professional branches to employers, with emphasis placed on their specific contents that aim to boost the practical skills of the future graduates and support the development of competencies that are key for their adequate employability within the labour market. Other collaboration opportunities are also discussed, and Memoranda of Cooperation are concluded with selected employers as part of the project activities. The Memoranda are effective throughout the duration of the project with the option to extend the collaboration afterwards (until the end of 2022).

As part of the ‘Competitive Graduate from Mendel University in Brno’ OP RDE project, a total of ten workshops with both existing and potential employers of MENDELU graduates were planned and held. So far, 30 Memoranda of Cooperation have been concluded with selected employers.

Another activity that aims to establish and further consolidate cooperation with employers is Career Day held at MENDELU. Taking place once a year, this event provides employers and students, or rather graduates from MENDELU, with a unique space which links the university environment with the world of employment (see https://kariera.mendelu.cz).
